Return to Falling Feather Music

Shepherd's Prayer

Stonehenge will crumble to sand
Winter will seek southern lands
I know that my song will be lost
Among a million others.
This one thing for my brothers
I pray
May we sleep on green hills
And drink sweet water
Ten thousand years from today.

When the strength of the soul
Drifts slowly from the hand
And the last breath echoes
A soft goodbye from the heart.

We're left to wonder
Where soul's wind blows
And how memories knew where to start

A beggar's life is our will
A bottomless hull to be filled
So say the seers as they hide
Beneath their covers at night.
This one thing for my brothers
I pray
May there be men with hearts
Full of trust and wonder
Ten thousand years from today

If darkness is so strong
That it can bend the light
The light must be stronger
For knowing how to bend.
Keep shining bright
Wear your strongest armor
When courage fails, faith begins.

Forever is only a word
Spoken often, seldom heard
So precious is each moment known
Forever is each one alone
This one thing for my brothers
I pray
May there be a place called home
And somewhere to wander
Ten thousand years from today.
